January 2012: Dr. Curley attended a lecture on the envelope of parafunction and steps to achieve treatment success presented by Dr. Michael Fling. Dr. Fling is very involved with the L. D. Pankey Institute for Dental Education. Dr. Curley has been to the institute 10 times since 1992 and has been positively influenced in many ways by this association. Dr. Fling spoke at length about helping patients who clinch and grind and how to restore the damage these common habits can cause.
November 2011: Dr. Curley attended a lecture presented by Dr. Sonia Leziy and Dr. Brahm Miller on surgical and restorative blueprints for implant esthetics. Dr. Leziy and Dr. Miller are a very interesting husband/wife team! She is a periodontist and he specializes in restorative dentistry. The lecture included techniques for communicating to the surgeon placing the implant and tips on the actual implant restoration.
September 2011: Dr. Curley attended a lecture by Dr. Bob Margeas. The topics varied from implants to porcelain repair. Dr. Margeas is a "wet-fingered" dental speaker. He runs a full time practice and lectures 30 days per year. Dr. Curley had the pleasure of Dr. Margeas' company for dinner the night before and was impressed that he was a very focused individual.
June 2011: For the second year running, Dr. Curley has been selected by his peers as one of New Orleans Magazine's Top Dentists. It is always special when my patients recommend their friends and family, but for my collegues to have the same respect is quite overwhelming. Thank you to all for your continued confidence and appreciation for the quality of dentistry we work so hard to provide.
May 6, 2011: Dr. David Hornbrook presented a seminar on hot topics in esthetic and restorative dentistry. I am excited to bring some of my nuggets back to the office to give my patients an even better quality of care.
March 18, 2011: Dr. Curley attended a seminar on the new techinque called "All on 4" (also called "Teeth In A Day"). This allows for us to immediately screw on a complete set of teeth on 4 implants. The patients we have that have already had this procedure find it to be the best alternative and value to natural teeth. For more information, check out Teeth In A Day
January 14, 2011: Dr. Curley attended a lecture on the non-carious loss of tooth structure presented by Dr. Thomas Abrahamsen. We are excited to educate our patients on the damage they are causing with over brushing (scrubbing) and over use of toothpaste.
April 8-10, 2010: Dr. Curley and staff attended the New Orleans Dental Conference. Vicky, Sierra, and Dr. Curley focused on classes to improve communication as a staff & with patients and recognizing personality strengths in staff and patients for the optimal patient experience. Our hygienists, Stacie and Toni, learned the latest techniques in treating periodontal disease and new alternatives to improve tissue/gum esthetics in the smile area.
August 27, 2009: Dr. Curley attended a DOCS Education Seminar on Oral Sedation Dentistry in Memphis, TN. There he learned the latest techniques and medication to help anxious, nervous patients have a pleasant dental visit. Dr. Curley and his staff are excited to incorporate a new protocol in our office that will guarantee a positive dental experience.
March 20, 2009: Dr. Curley attended a continuing education seminar dealing with advances in periodontal (gum) plastic surgery to deal with recession of the gums and situations where too much gums show and teeth look too short. Dr. Edward P. Allen whom is a gum specialist practing at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas presented the seminar.
January 16, 2009: Dr. Curley attended "a presentation on the coordination of specialists and the restoring dentist for management of front teeth esthetics in complicated cases" by Dr. Vincent Kokich, Sr. from Tacoma, Washington.
